' I went to Marcia at Life Clinics for supervision as a newly trained hypnotherapist. Abbey Place Clinic where Marcia works is a wonderfully inviting and calming space and Marcia's pleasant and welcoming personality immediately puts you at your ease. Marcia sent me a questionnaire before attending the session which i had shared with her prior to our meeting, so we were both already prepared to discuss a particular case i was currently dealing with. It was so encouraging to get some feedback from another experienced professional and gave me the confidence that i was handling the case well. Through gentle open questioning Marcia was able to show me that i was also going through a similar time of processing as my client and sometimes not feeling as confident as i would like, and this helped me to boost my confidence. Marcia was also able to give me some ideas for possible strategies that may work for my client. It was clear from my experience that Marcia is a very competent, highly qualified Hypnotherapist and Counsellor and so is perfectly suited to supervision too. I will definitely return to Marcia for regular supervision whilst my practice grows and would happily recommend her to others.'

Marcia offers supervision for therapists including Hypnotherapists, NLP practitioners, Counsellors, TFT practitioners and supervisees that may have various therapeutic approaches including a combination of approaches like Hypnotherapy and Counselling, and NLP and Counselling. Marcia has an integrative approach to supervision which includes cognitive, solution focused approaches.
What is supervision?
• It helps to ensure you address the needs of your clients.
• It provides a safe, supportive, structured, collaborative, confidential space where your awareness, skills and knowledge can be further developed.
• It helps to develop confidence in yourself and your therapeutic work.
• It provides a space which reassures, challenges, gives ideas, encourages creativity and helps to inspire, motivate and recharge energy.
What supervision is not
• It is not therapy, judgemental, fault finding, incongruent, friendship or a place for ‘fuzzy’ boundaries.
Marcia aims to be helpful in your agenda of work, to focus on your abilities, learning and strengths, to help you reflect on your client work, and to promote best practice by helping you develop your present and future practice. She works in a collaborative way with you and agrees to maintain professional, ethical boundaries of time and place for supervision.
'I found the sessions of supervision I had from Marcia to be professional and very helpful. I was able to focus on exactly what i wanted to talk about. Marcia is generous with her knowledge and offers insight into practice and reassurance that my approach was good. I very much appreciated the resources she shared to improve my own practice. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Marcia for supervision and look forward to my next session.'
